I was somewhat disappointed with this. I had remembered it giving more syntax options. D&M is limited in this regard. It is more appropriate for one who has 1st year Greek under their belt, but Wallace's, Greek beyond the Basics will serve you longer, as you will not as soon outgrow it. Plus it gives a more complete account of syntax options. For this fact, I would purchase it first. It is not difficult and you will be better served. D & M is a good (well, fair) introduction to syntax, but does not give many of the options available. This limits one from doing the more accurate exegesis. Plus the cost of Wallace is not much more expensive. D & M is somewhat dated now. It gives no mention of the Granville-Sharp rule for the article.

I have purchased this in conjunction with an Introduction of Greek Scripture Studies course I am taking and this has proven to be a useful resource for me in the studies I've done subsequent to beginning Walter Cumin's course! I highly recommend this and the seller!

Taking NT Greek is more than a course of study, it can be more of knowing God more closely. It is not an easy subject BUT it is rewarding when you get past the basics. You will find God showing Himself more to you as you study, this in itself if rewarding and joy will enter your heart. .

I am brand new to Koine Greek and this is a great start. I've always heard of Professors Dana and Mantey and was pleased to find that Amazon had this book. I purchased mine used since new was way out of my price range. When it arrived, it was filled with pencil marks, highlighter, etc. Some might have a fit about that but for the price? I didn't care. Brand new it's over $120, while my used one was barely $15. For a savings of $105, I can live with it.If you are new to Koine Greek and can find a good deal on this book, get it. It's deep, that's true, but worth the study.

A very complete and well written introduction to the craft of orchestration. Some sections are greatly expanded from the third edition, and some are barely touched at all.The publisher takes the book into the digital era by replacing the accompanying CD with a website where you can listen to the examples. HOWEVER, hidden in the small print of the user agreement it says that you only get access to the media files for one year (!!). If you want to have access to the files after that time, you have to pay another 40 dollars per year that you want to access them. They never advertise this at the time of sale, which I think is very misleading.It is clear that the publisher does not offer this upgrade for the user's convenience, but rather to squeeze money out of the pockets of their primarily student audience. Until they address this issue, you're probably better off buying the third edition, which comes with a regular CD that never expires.EDIT (4 Oct 2017): A year after this review I can confirm that my access has expired. I now have the option to add another 180 days (NOT an entire year as reported earlier) for $40. The website also says that my access expired 3 months after buying the book, as opposed to the one year I read in the user agreement. Please draw your own conclusions.

One reason I was willing to pay for this extremely expensive book was that the ad promised that "The Fourth Edition invites students to experience the instruments through online audio and video recordings and now offers more coverage of writing for band." note: NO INDICATION THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ACCESS!When the book came, it had a card in it with the web site URL, a password, and instructions for setting up your access -- with NO INDICATION THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ACCESS!I went through the process in question, with NO INDICATION THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ACCESS!Then after a year, I found my access blocked, and a message that if I wanted to keep access you better give us some money, bub.They can of course charge for their web site access if they want to. I'm just looking at the book for the first time, but as a string player myself, I can already tell that the book hasn't been proofread very carefully. (especially for a 4th edition!) I've already encountered a number of errors and inaccuracies (a lot of them having to do with fingerings on string instruments), and it makes me wonder if there will be more errors relating to other instruments that I'm less familiar with that will therefore be more difficult for me to catch...Overall though, it seems like a useful resource to have. And I agree with the other reviews that making you pay more to extend the access to the examples online is totally bogus. I guess it's geared towards people using the book for one semester and then just forgetting about it, but for those of us who'd like to keep referring to the examples in the book, it's really annoying.

Good textbook just no audio to go along with the tracks. Most textbooks nowadays have a code through which you can access listening libraries online with the purchase of a textbook. This one there isnt audio with it. Other than that, very compact and good. Perfect size. It's not one of those big, heavy textbooks that you need to carry around.

Excellent book, clear examples, great learning tool. Every course should use it.Downside: Have to buy music separately. Should required to include music disks with the actual god damn book.

Great working book, ideal for the amateur musician who's making film music, like me.

Joe Meek was an iconoclastic British recording innovator who was also, among other things, a paranoid schizophrenic homosexual speed freak who believed he was in psychic communication with Buddy Holly and who murdered his landlady with a shotgun before shooting himself in 1967.

Cleveland, however, takes an industry perspective, focusing primarily on Meek’s 12-year professional recording career, rather than his personal life.

Joe Meek’s best-known recording, “Telstar,” topped the charts worldwide in 1962, and he engineered and produced dozens of U.K. hits. The extensive roster of fine musicians that graced Meek’s recordings includes guitarists Ritchie Blackmore, Steve Howe, and Jimmy Page (Page credits Meek as having been a major influence on his own production).

Joe Meek was also responsible for many recording “firsts,” at least in the U.K. For example, he was
